About Me

Amber grew up in the wilds of Wyoming. Sewing and crafting runs in the family, and she got an early introduction to fabric stores. Her grandmother worked at local fabric store, and Amber has fond memories of wandering through the bolts of fabric, picking out patterns with her mom, and drooling over the buttons. Her great-grandmother was seamstress for the wedding department at a local department store. Her mother tried various crafts over the years including painting, knitting and sewing. She didn’t get back into sewing until 2013 when sewing her first steampunk cosplays for her and her husband.

She went to college at South Dakota State University (not the other SDSU) and got a degree in biological sciences. She has worked in various scientific fields, but most of her career has been in quality control, quality assurance and standards compliance in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. 

She never dreamed of being an entrepreneur. After seeing her in-laws gave her the bug with her parents-in-law and sister-in-law doing craft shows to sell their various creations, she wanted to try. Over the years she has tried various business ventures, but the scarves have turned out to be a bigger hit than expected.

In the rare moments the sewing machine isn’t being used to make scarves, she enjoys sewing her own clothes and cosplays. She loves to cook and try new recipes, gaming, reading, practicing yoga and swimming.
